I will not be silenced
Even as I’m drug through the fire
Through the mud, the putrid mire,
the consequence of tainted desire,
Through lust and corrupt satire
I will continue to inspire
Shine like a gown of sapphire
Blue against your monochrome attire
Even when I’m gone, they inquire
What about me is not to admire
What caused these events to transpire
Where I am now the fuel for your campfire?
Why do they all conspire
To refuse the world to acquire?
I will not be silenced
Perhaps it’s all in the lust
Of the desire to feel just
So they feel like they must
Call my contests rust
Lower than that of dust
I am the crust
Cut away by disgust
Yet still, they fussed
My contents they cussed
And away I’ve been thrust.
I will not be silenced
I consider it absurd
That the lines have been blurred
Haven’t you heard
You’re just part of the herd
That’s what’s been preferred
You’re caged liked the bird
With a freedom deferred
They ignore those demurred
Standing there undeterred
Know that we’ve forgotten the word.
Now we’re all standing silenced.
