I don’t understand how things are ran these days
Wanting us to keep walking like everything is okay
I can’t turn my head or block my sight
I will not keep quiet for what isn’t right
If the says I have freedom of speech
Then why do I get cuffed when I try and speak
Authority being hard on black but light on white
I don’t care if I have to break rules for what is right
I will march and chant and do whatever it takes
Just treat my people equally for goodness sake
I will say what needs to be said and do what needs
to be done
I’m tired of our people being innocent but still stare
down a gun
I will stand and be as brave as Malcolm X was
Brave like Rosa Parks when she was on the bus
As substantial as Martin Luther King’s dream was
going to be
as significant as Colin Kaepernick taking a knee
They want us to turn the other cheek
They want us to be quiet
Until we are treated right
I will break all rules necessary and fight
